Hey guys! I am super excited to be able to finally share all of our engagement pictures with you today! I had been looking forward to taking engagement pictures ever since Melissa and I got engaged, and we had so much fun at our engagement shoot!
I knew I really wanted a very spring/summer look for our engagement pictures. With summer coming to a close, and our shoot scheduled for the beginning of September, I started to get a little nervous we were going to miss our window of opportunity. Luckily, our location was just stunning, with everything from gorgeous wildflowers to a lily pad covered lake, and provided the perfect spring vibe.
This engagement shoot was actually a very generous engagement present from our friends. The night before our shoot was scheduled, we went over to their house, so my friend could help curl my hair and plan my makeup. I’m so grateful for the help, I never would have been able to do it all by myself!
Since Melissa and I both have engagement rings, we wanted to make sure we got a couple of shots that showed off both. Since most ‘traditional’ engagement poses focus on only one girl’s ring, we had to be creative to come up with our own dual-focus poses. I just absolutely love the photo above with everything but our hands out of focus!
We took our engagement photos with Tayler Brianne Photography, and she was just an absolute dream to work with! She was so sweet and fun, and instantly put Melissa and I at ease, which made posing for pictures so much more comfortable. Tayler was also very open to our suggestions and input for the shoot, which I absolutely loved, so we were able to capture lots of fun shots that I had seen on Pinterest (like the one below).
There were a ton of butterflies at our shoot, including the beauty below, which we just loved. For some reason, Melissa and I have started seeing a ton of butterflies this summer, and so they have sort of become an unofficial symbol to us of love and good luck for our future.
I am just so grateful to have this time in our life so beautifully captured. I can’t wait to look back on these pictures in 10, 20 or 30 years and remember it like it was yesterday. I can’t wait to show our children, and even grandchildren many years from now! I’m such a sap for memory keeping, and to me these pictures are just priceless, and the perfect way to show our love for each other, and excitement for our marriage.
We also took a few ‘moodier’ photos, which Melissa requested. I think these pictures have such a romantic feel, and I’m so glad we have the nice mix of picture styles!
These next few pictures are some of my favorites. But honestly, I feel like I could say that about like 75% of these pictures. I just seriously love them all! But these ones really go that extra mile in my heart, and I am just so in love with them!
Overall we just had such a fun time taking these pictures. I think we were there for maybe 2ish hours if I remember correctly, but it did not feel like it. The whole time we were there all three of us were just so excited about setting up the next awesome shot, and brainstorming ideas, and talking and laughing, it was honestly just so much fun! And I am so grateful to Tayler for not only capturing these beautiful pictures, but for really making the shoot so much fun and a great memory in an of itself!
I also love how we were able to really let our personalities show through in a lot of the pictures. The picture below wouldn’t be my first pick for looking flawless and perfect. But it definitely has to be one of my favorites since it shows Melissa and I just having fun and being our goofy selves. And for that, I love it.
I hope you guys loved seeing these pictures! I am just so over the moon with how they turned out! And if you are in Maryland, I would definitely highly recommend checking out Tayler Brianne Photography. I feel like I can’t stress enough how much Melissa and I loved working with her.
Thanks for celebrating our engagement with us! Your guys’ excitement truly means the world to me, and I am loving sharing every step of my engagement and wedding planning with you all! It’s also probably time for another wedding update video soon as well, so keep your eyes out for that 🙂
