Hello all! Today I’m here with some very exciting updates to the blog. I’ve learned that creating my perfect blog is much like creating my perfect home. There are so many things I want to do, but the best way to get them all done is one at a time. One of the things I’ve been dying to get up is a completed home tour page.
Previously, I had a few thumbnails linking to various projects in each room, but that wasn’t my ideal setup. So I am pleased to announce that you can now find pictures of each of my rooms on the ‘My Home‘ tab in the top navigation bar.
As none of my rooms are 100% finished (or lets be honest, even 50%), I will be updating these pictures as I make progress in the apartment. I am going to do my best to keep this page up to date with the changes and improvements I make around my home.
I also included links to various projects I have done in each room. I hope this will make it easy for you guys to find any project you want to learn more about from each room. I will also do my best to keep these links as up to date as possible, adding in new projects as I complete them!
The other exciting update is that there are new free printables! Some of you requested cat versions of my dog printables, and I thought this was a great idea! Kitties need just as much love and organized care as puppies do. So I have made up five printables to help you track of and organize your feline friend’s health.
The first printable is a general information printable. Here you can keep track of important information relating to your cat, such as birthday, microchip number and vet contact information. There is also a section at the bottom for additional notes you may want to jot down (can be anything from a favorite toy to a health condition). This can be a very useful page to leave with any petsitters, so that they always have the necessary information to care for your cat.
The next page is to keep track of regular medications given to your cat. I know from experience, that it can be very easy to forget the last time you gave a pet their monthly flea and tick medicine. Having one place where you write down the date every time you administer the medication can be such a lifesaver. It also helps ensure that kitty doesn’t accidentally miss their monthly treatment. Simply write in the year down the left columns, then fill in the date the medication was given under the correct month. There are sections for flea and tick medication, and heartworm prevention.
In addition to regular, at home medications, cats also need vaccinations administered at their vet’s. Most vet offices do keep records of your pets vaccinations on file, but I find a peace of mind keeping my own records for Dakota. This way I know exactly what vaccination she has gotten and when, and know when she is due for a booster. Simply check off the boxes for each vaccination as your cat gets the shot at each age. Not all cats need every vaccination, and not all vaccinations need to be taken at all intervals, so please check with your vet about what is best for your cat.
Next up, I compiled a list of foods and household items that are poisonous to cats. Many foods that seem harmless enough to people, can actually be toxic and even fatal to cats. If your cat accidentally ingests something it shouldn’t have, its great to have a list handy to tell you whether or not it will harm them. I did my best to include everything I could find that poses a threat, but please note this is not a comprehensive list. If you are ever unsure about the danger of what your cat ingested, please check with your vet.
Finally, I included a Cat CPR instructional page. This is something no pet owner ever wants to have to know, but something every pet owner should have readily available should the need arise. In an emergency situation, it can be hard to have a clear head and know what to do. With this page, all you have to do is pull it out, and follow the step by step directions. I hope you never need it, but I know I feel safer having my Dog CPR page ready and waiting.
These printables are a great addition to any home management binder for those with feline family members! I know you guys love printables as much as I do, so I hope you enjoy these new additions!
